OTI Disclaimer | The molecular sequence of this clone aligns with the gene accession number as a point of reference only. However, individual transcript sequences of the same gene can differ through naturally occurring variations (e.g. polymorphisms), each with its own valid existence. This clone is substantially in agreement with the reference, but a complete review of all prevailing variants is recommended prior to use. More info |
OTI Annotation | This clone was engineered to express the complete ORF with an expression tag. Expression varies depending on the nature of the gene. |

Gene Summary | Transcription factor that specifically binds to the octamer motif (5'-ATTTGCAT-3'). Regulates transcription in a number of tissues in addition to activating immunoglobulin gene expression. Modulates transcription transactivation by NR3C1, AR and PGR. Isoform OCT2.5 activates the U2 small nuclear RNA (snRNA) promoter. Isoforms OCT2.1, OCT2.2 and OCT2.3 activate octamer-containing promoters. Isoforms OCT2.4 and OCT2.5 repress some promoters and activate others. Isoform OCT2.7 is unable to bind to the octamer motif, but can still activate the beta-casein gene promoter at low levels.[UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot Function] |
